Addressing Hunter as Caleb, he accused his nephew of stabbing him in the back once again but Luz retorted that he did it to him first. Returning to "Hunter", Belos was unsurprised that Kikimora failed to realize she had brought him Luz, who proceeded to fight him. As they fought, Belos remarked that he wasn't aware that she was already combining glyphs, something that took him years to master, almost as if the Titan himself was purposely keeping that knowledge from him.

The Genius of Emperor Belos
However, the Emperor quickly went back on his word, claiming there was only enough Titan's blood in the key to power the Portal, causing the Collector realized he lied about freeing him. As he discarded his robes and concealed his scar, revealing his Philip Wittebane clothing underneath, Belos covered the Collector's mirror with a cloth, silencing his tantrum. In "Follies at the Coven Day Parade", he appears to the public at the end of Coven Day Parade, reveals to them about the Day of Unity in a month, and it will end all wild magic. Luz and everyone else wonder what Belos is really planning and why he had Terra Snapdragon give Luz a message about looking forward to meeting her, which was confusing to Amity, as Luz had already met Belos.

Season 1
In "Eclipse Lake", Belos attempted to use a facsimile key on the rebuilt Portal only for it to immediately disintegrate once inserted. He claims that he has once been to the Human Realm and was looking forward to seeing it again. He then guessed that Hunter had come with another purpose, and when asked why he was swapped out with Kikimora on leading an expedition to the Knee for Titan's Blood.
Early life
A minor exception to this was shown with his attachment to his "nephew", Hunter, whom he acted more gentle and calm toward. However, the genuineness of this attachment was primarily a one-sided ruse in order to keep Hunter from rising against him as all the previous Golden Guards did. Inner Belos first appears as his child self inside Belos' mind when Luz and Hunter find themselves in it.
Agreeing to help, Belos jumps through a few memories with the two following for more on Belos, gathering select items from each one. Originally a human named Philip Wittebane, he arrived in the Boiling Isles from Gravesfield, Connecticut during the Deadwardian Era (the mid-1600s in the Human Realm) in pursuit of his brother, Caleb, who was spirited away to the realm... Created by Dana Terrace, “The Owl House,” which is now available in its entirety on Disney+, follows Luz, a human teenager who stumbles into an alternate dimension known as the demon realm. A spunky, spirited fantasy lover with a penchant for getting carried away, Luz doesn’t quite fit in in the human world, so she decides to begin training as a witch rather than go back home.

Despite their main function being to allow easy access to the castle rooms - like most hallways - they have many art features displayed upon its walls, and the walls also have vents. On display at the castle entrance are two tapestries, one depicting the Savage Ages, and the other depicting Belos' introduction of unity and the coven systems. Philip Wittebane, later known as Emperor Belos, is the main antagonist of the Disney Channel animated series, The Owl House. I'd like to take a moment of your time to talk about the character of Emperor Belos and how I think he is probably one of Disney's best villains, character-wise. Emperor Belos (originally Philip Wittebane) is the main antagonist of the Disney animated series The Owl House. Philip Wittebane, later known as Emperor Belos, is the main antagonist of the 2020 Disney Channel animated series The Owl House.
Belos initially used technology as means to utilize magic while prolonging his life by feeding on palismens, granting him power while using mental effort to retain his human appearance. His endgame goal was to invoke the Day of Unity, a convergence of the human and demon worlds that would purge wild magic through the current Coven heads he selected, although its true purpose was draining all magic from the Boiling Isles, killing every witch and demon in the process and, in his eyes, 'saving humanity from evil'. Belos convinced Lilith Clawthorne to join the Emperor's Coven by offering to cure her cursed sister Eda, only to go back on his word while forcing Luz Noceda to give him the portal.

Though it's not 100% confirmed yet, the most commonly accepted theory is that Philip killed his brother because his brother fell in love with a witch and Philip viewed witches as the enemy, he killed his brother in the name of the witch-hunting cause. The show has a boner for subverting tired old tropes like having the villain's mask come off at their last appearance or revealing the villain's sympathetic tragic backstory. But the Owl House subverted those by showing that some villains really are just evil because that's the way they were raised to.
Despite his immense power, Belos is not incapable of fear, as he was genuinely scared of the Collector's power and didn't want him to be free to share his knowledge with anybody else when his plan was finished. After the Day of Unity begins, he betrays the Collector by dropping him down a pit. When King frees him, Belos was shocked by this and absurdly tries to tell him that he kept his word on freeing him, only for the Collector to destroy his physical body. Consequently, this fact shows that Belos is unable to comprehend that his genocidal goal had become pointless by now, ironically much like how the Collector warned him that humanity has changed in the episode "King's Tide".
Upon following the stolen rebus to the local graveyard, Belos revealed himself when Luz finds a quivering Flapjack. Luz tries to fight Belos but he mocked her for purposely avoiding harming Hunter. As her mother and friends arrived, Belos mocked her desire to help others which led him to meeting the Collector. Belos fights Luz and the gang which they are beaten, Belos grabs Flapjack and says he doesn't care if their Palismen are harmed or not and begins to crush Flapjack to take his essence. This causes Hunter to fight back and stand up to him, fed up with Belos's toxic control and harming anyone and threw the titan blood in the water. After Hunter is rescued by Camila Noceda, Belos leaves his body and reformed his monster form.
Belos furiously blamed his brother for his own actions, claiming he tried to save his soul. Soon realizing that his own body was deteriorating, Belos made his way back to the Titan's skull, where he accessed his laboratory. After ignoring the ghosts of Caleb and the countless Golden Guards, Belos possessed an incubating Grimwalker only to find it was an insufficient host.
